Family Portraits in Smoky Mountains

On day two of our glamping trip we ventured out and explored a bit of the Newfound Gap trail. The trail is actually really long like 28 miles but it’s multiple trails that connect and continue. We only did half of the Sweat Hefer trail. I knew we weren’t going to make it to the top and also read that there wasn’t much of an actual view. So along the trail when the pretty golden light beamed through the trees we set our stuff down and took photos!

We had plenty of practice with the tripod and doing self photos when we did the Stone Mountain hike at home the other week. It was still very very challenging but I’m so happy with what we were able to get. I coached Vu with the angle and imagery I wanted him to get and he did well! I’m sure I got on his nerves but just look at the beautiful photos of me and sweet Brayden!

We will eventually do an actual maternity session with our friend Steven Wallace when my bump is more round but for now I am so in love with our family photos and how we spent the day hiking.

These photos are just so swoon worthy don’t you think? I’m so happy I have these to keep as memories of not only my belly at five months but of my Brayden at 16 months being so active and adorable as ever. He does not stay still you guys and he loves exploring. He will approach anyone though I can’t say he’ll give a smile each time. He’s just so curious and quite the observer. I love this stage of life we’re in and watching him grow. I look forward to our growing family and watching my little guy be a big brother!
