Year Of The Snake 2025 Tết | Happy Lunar New Year

January 29th marks the start of Tết, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year! According to Chinese astrology, it is the year of the Wood Snake. Just FYI friends, if you’re into Chinese astrology, which I do read because it’s super fun, you can find reading material online with a quick google search. Supposedly the year of the snake is about self-discovery and personal development. From what I know about snake symbolism, it also means a year of transformation so get ready to stretch your creativity, learn something new, and break old unwanted habits!

As always, I put together a stylish photoshoot for the kiddos and we had a blast!!! Just like the very first photoshoot I did of Brayden, it was smaller and only Ariel and Alice joined us this time around. It turned out to be the quickest Tết shoot I’ve done in a while lol.

The first photoshoot where Nova didn’t cry and she was fabulous when it came to noodle time! We served the kiddos Trader Joe’s Squiggly Knife Cut Style Noodles and it was a big hit. Instead of adding the seasoning though, we just cooked it according to the instructions and added a little bit of salt and soy sauce then drained.

I kept the decor simple and used a few pieces from last year but ordered the snake table runner from Amazon. Balloons are the most practical decoration for any party and in my opinion, it’s super easy. You can find kits on Amazon, Walmart, or any party supply store.

How cute is this paper flower from World Market guys? It’s actually a Valentine’s Day card that you mail but I knew it would be perfect for the table setup. Peach & Plum Blossoms are one of the lucky flowers for Lunar New Year.

Oh my goodness y’all! Can we talk about ube cookies for a minute? They’re usually good. Once in a while, we might eat one that we aren’t really feeling but it’s usually good. So I bought a pack of ube cookies from World Market and they were pretty decent. Then I thought, why not add my to die for cream cheese on top of it, make it pretty for the photoshoot and make it even better? Well well well… the cookies were BOMB!!! Cream cheese on cookies just takes the taste to another level.

The usual tea time and passing out lucky money (red envelops). We finished the photoshoot playing with the toy figurines of snake, that I also got off Amazon and the kiddos even got to pick out which one they wanted to keep. We had so much fun guys and after it was all done, we continued eating noodles and had way too many ube cookies.

Chúc mừng Năm Mới! Wishing you all a Happy New Year filled with peace, love, good health and fortune!!!
