Weekend Trip in Charleston SC | Charleston SC Film Photographer

One of the best and quite relaxing vacations with the in-laws that I’ve had in a LONG time

What made this vacation so different?

Well first off, we hadn’t vacationed together in 3 years. When I think about the 3 years that pass I still shake my head at how fleeting time is. Time is the one thing that we can never have enough of. So this weekend trip was one that I really cherished cause everyone has just grown so much. I don’t just mean the kids, like Jordan and Nancy, now teens. I mean all of us. We’ve grown in our character, we’ve gone through things that have shaken us and we’ve (I have) developed a whole new kind of appreciate for life. Seeing beauty from a place of love and not past hurts.

Besides—Charleston is my FAVORITE place to visit. I love Charleston because it’s really not that far of a drive, 5 and half hours, it’s totally doable for a weekend getaway. I love it because of it’s rich history and it’s ability to make you forget all your business of daily life.

We decided to stay in Mount Pleasant where Sullivan’s Island and downtown Charleston was within an easy drive going to and from. We spent the morning and afternoon soaking up the sun. Later in the evening we ate in Charleston and walked around marveling the life of the Holy City. And that was pretty much it. We got in late Friday night and left Sunday afternoon after we grabbed Callie’s Hot Biscuit. The rain cut our Sunday plans short but if it weren’t for it, I would have walked around parts of Charleston some more. Even though our trip was a short weekend it really didn’t feel like it.
