Studio Fun | DIY Painted Backdrop | Atlanta Portrait Photographer

I painted a canvas and gave flash on film in the studio a try. Normally for weddings I pop a flash on top of my 35mm camera put it in TTL mode and I’m good to go. But in the studio I wanted to try a beauty dish and a softbox to play around with shadows and create some artistic portraits. Whenever I’m shooting it’s always a lot of fun and I love experimenting and challenging myself! Most of the time the outcome is pretty darn good but this time around, it didn’t turn out as I hoped. I got one color shot out of the 4 rolls I shot. Steven helped me figure out the issue so I’ll need to give it another go. I mean…you learn by trying out new things right? Thank goodness I shot a roll of black and white film on natural light! The ones that I do have did allow me to shoot with the Leica M6 for the second time around as I was still getting the feel of how to shoot with that camera. I rather like the painted canvas in black and white! It gives a nice vintage vibe and I’m all about vintage! So time wasn’t really wasted. And here are the photos. I’m still pretty happy with this small handful.
