Spring New York Trip | Travel Photography

For spring break I booked a short trip to New York and turns out I was able to make arrangements at the same time with Theary. It never hurts to mix some personal with business right? Her engagement session was an early sunrise one and after that we were free all day and the next to explore the city. It was my first time there so I SOAKED it all in. I also got to visit my friend Michelle! That was a treat getting to catch up with her and see her cool techy apartment!

New York is a true concrete jungle like they say. Blocks and blocks of lines, high rise buildings, skyscrapers–just building after building, after building lol. I got yelled at a couple times “Hey watch it lady, watch where you’re going!” Oh my goodness y’all, New York folks don’t mess around with their time! I even had someone yell “Share the road!” I thought I was!

We made plenty of coffeeshop stops and whatever we ate, we burned those calories off with all the walking we did. A few of my favorite places included Remi’s Flower Shop and Coffee, Le Pain Quotidien Bakery, Tiffany & CO (of course!), and Top of The Rock.

We were able to visit the newest construction Hudson Yards Vessel but we didn’t attempt the walk on the stairs. It was definitely a marvelous sight but we already knew we’d be walking around (some more) so those steps were just out of the question.

Another favorite and a must see for everyone, is Grand Central Terminal Station. I had a little cinematic moment when I stepped into the grand area… you know the movie Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them? When Newt travels and comes out the suitcase in the middle of Grand Central Station? Yes that scene… why did I walk into Grand Central Station picturing creatures and beast popping out of hidden corners and such? More so, I had pictured walking into the terminal with parts closed off because of filming. If that really were the case, we probably wouldn’t have been able to visit. That’s just me and my imagination!

I really loved exploring New York and will be visiting again soon. This time around I’ll make sure I pack portra 800 film. Even though it was a lovely day strolling, there was a mixture of clouds and of course, the buildings are so dang tall there’s shade! So a lot of my images were a tad underexpose. So I’ll see you again New York!!!
