The weekend after Thanksgiving we made the trip to Bottoms Christmas Tree Farm in Cummings. Our first visit to this farm and we really enjoyed it. On Saturdays they have photo ops with Santa but you have to make it there before 1:00pm which we did not! Mama did plan to make it up there by 12:30pm but like lots of normally families, we were late. Of course.
Our family enjoyed the hayride that took us around the entire farm which I highly recommend. This way you can view the different tree species and you can pinpoint where you think you might want to start your hunt for the perfect tree.
We went with our friends Tam and David and I’m so grateful we could get some family photos in. It helps to have another person that isn’t intimidated to use my camera haha. Last year we went with the Carolina Sapphire and loved the scent it gave off. We thought we’d go with the same tree this year but we ended up with the Murray Cypress which isn’t as strong of scent but it was still just lovely.
I made another batch of Christmas ornaments but we didn’t use it all up since the ones from last year were still in good condition. The baking soda DIY ornaments were slightly discolored so this lets me know that by next year we probably won’t be able to use them. It’s fun making them and getting the kiddos to paint and decorate them.
We’ll likely visit the same tree farm next year as we really enjoyed it there. We took our time and explored the entire farm and loved sitting around the bonfire as we waited for Vu to pull the car around and loaded the tree up. We packed snacks but the farm does offer fried apple pies, some sweet treats and a smores kit. There are a few picnic tables behind the barn so if you decide you want to pack a meal you’ll have a place to sit. They also have a couple lawn games too.
Now if I can get the kiddos in their matching pajamas I’ll be sure to post photos on Instagram!
