If you’re a film nerd you should be following Studio C-41. If you’re interested in film, you should be following Studio C-41. Studio C-41 is a podcast about all things film. This podcast has a mix of interviews, reviews on film, what film companies have been up…pretty much everything you’d want to know about the analog world. Bill Manning-host and executive producer, along with co-host Steven Wallace, and Jordana Dale Russell make up the podcasters of said studio.
Oh let me just brag a bit about Steven and Jordana. They’re both good friends of mine and their work is utterly AMAZING. I love Steven’s travel and wedding photography. Did you hear that? WEDDING. And since I’m not shooting big-sized weddings, I would highly recommend Steven for your wedding photography needs, if anyone is looking! His work is fresh, clean (so fresh and so clean clean) and FUN. And my dear friend Jordana is bad a$$ in fashion and conceptual fine art photography. I fell in love with her work before I even knew who she was. I’m a true fan. Do yourself a favor and head over to both of their websites. Steven Wallace Photography and Jordana Dale, you will not be disappointed.
Just a silly bunch they are. Not only was I able to hang out with cool folks, but I got to geek out over a couple cameras that I’ve been eyeing. The famous Mamiya 7 and it’s bitty friend the Canon Canonet. Both rangefinders. I had all the toys around my neck and I felt like a kid on a playground, with candy AND ice cream! I almost bought a Canonet at one point, just cause of the affordability factor and it’s a neat little rangefinder anyone can own. But not so much the Mamiya 7. This camera isn’t something you’d just splurge on. Luckily I had the opportunity to shoot with this before deciding to make such a commitment. The Mamiya 7 is begging to join my collection of gears and I don’t know what to do now ahhhhhhh.
All the photos were taken on Kodak portra 400 film and developed by local lab Dunwoody Photo. The gang will be featured in Photo Klassik International magazine and I can hardly wait to see it in print!
Be sure to check out the website here. You can also subscribe to their YouTube channel which is a lot of fun y’all. Bill talks up on some good stuff guys and you’ll definitely stay in the know with what’s coming up, like say, the Atlanta Photowalk meetups. Cheers and long live film!
